ICEFOSS 2019

Abstract

ICEFOSS 2019, scheduled on February 19 and 20, brings to you ‘Women Hackathon’, conducted in association with ICFOSS. It is a hackathon exclusively for women which aims to connect and inspire women, and be a stepping stone in furthering education and technological career. Women hackathon provides both an opportunity to create space that will make women leaders of technology and an attempt to solve social problems which can improve the lives of women around the world.

During DAY 1 of the Event, participants will be taught the best industrial practices and will be given a detailed introduction into various domains by leading industry experts.

On the 2nd Day, participants have a chance to showcase their creativity and skillset by brainstorming their ideas and making a prototype with what have they have been taught the previous day.

Abstract

This session will introduce you to the basics of Docker and Kubernetes. Widely used in industry Docker, provides virtualizination capabilities. Docker is used to run software packages called "containers". Originally designed by Google, Kuberenetes is widely used in industry for automating application deployment.

Abstract

This session will introduce you well into the general concept of how the scalable systems work, and covers its architecture, programming models and mainly the thinking process. After giving this base idea of scalable processing, we will see how the Hadoop platform implements these ideas into real. There will be a hands on for setting up Hadoop cluster and playing on it with different work loads, so come prepared :).
